Frequently Asked Questions

cartoon horse weigh bridge.jpg

Do I need electricity at my yard?

No. The service is fully battery operated.

Do I need a flat concrete place to put the weigh bridge?

No. We do need a fairly level, hard surface but it does not have to be concrete.

How often should I get my horse weighed?

For active weight management it is recommended that you have your horse weighed at least twice per year. The more often you have it done the more closely you can monitor how your management is having an effect.

What happens if my horse won't get on the weigh bridge?

We factor in plenty of time for each appointment to allow for the horses that are unsure. We operate with patience and understanding to allow all horses time to become comfortable and figure it out.

I don't want the temperature and heart rate taken, do I have to have it done?

No. If at any point you decide not to have any of the readings we stop. It is a flat fee whether you have all or only one reading.

Do you offer feed or nutritional advice?

I am not a qualified nutritionist. We can discuss the principles of feeding practice and management and you are welcome to you use your readings to discuss with other professional services.
